The Parent as Coach Approach was created in 2001 as a respons to teens crying out all over the world:
"Why does no one hear me?" Even my own son said that to me as a 14 year old and I decided to do something about it.

I decided to change ME, rather than trying to change him. At 14 he was just doing his job - being a teenager. What I had to do was to learn to love and respect his learning process and his unique learning style. I also set out to learn to "listen with my lips shut" and to appreciate his emerging personality.
